Some of the things that really bothered me:

-No support for simple expressions. e.g. Say you wanted to concatenate two names fields together. i.e. [lastname] + ", " + [firstname] or something like that. It continues to live up to that reputation IMO.

However, when I want to deliver something more lightweight, I am comfortable using FastReport as well. It's also a component set that has only improved with age while keeping it's smaller footprint.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2369540291979930022.post-10794096055250851362007-06-22T10:45:00.000+01:002007-06-22T10:45:00.000+01:00Nothing at the moment Paul but send me a CV as it ...Nothing at the moment Paul but send me a CV as it might be a matter of time. Its soo much better that Quick Reports/Rave that I also use it in our in-house Delphi projects.

PS. We have been able to change practically anything we have wanted to, and have a reporting solution uniquely fitted for our customer base. I can only recommend this tool, as the supports is among the best.

I would like to know what comments you had to the ODBCExpress DADE plugin, as I re-wrote it some time ago. And there is still so much room for improvement. I hope they turn it into an open-source project before it disappears, or at the very least include the RAP source code.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2369540291979930022.post-70210313953543134692007-06-21T16:39:00.000+01:002007-06-21T16:39:00.000+01:00100% agreed, Reportbuilder Rocks!100% agreed, Reportbuilder Rocks!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2369540291979930022.post-70157890676120944672007-06-21T15:19:00.000+01:002007-06-21T15:19:00.000+01:00FernandoI'm glad you liked it, the real gem is whe...Fernando

I'm glad you liked it, the real gem is when you come to embed it in your software and realise you can do practically anything with it.

Third-party components can be a very personal thing to developers and there's a sense that you have to defend the choice you've made because you've invested time & money in it. They have a standalone program for you to try out the reports and create your owns, even without having a development tool installed, and that complements the tutorial they have.

A *very* cool flexible and powerful report generator and most likely the one I'd use if/when I need to do Fernando Madrugahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07296473246062338124noreply@blogger.com
